Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Project Manager to lead digital humanities and arts-based research projects and to optimize the utilization of classroom and building spaces within the Bass School at UT Dallas. As the Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in advancing research initiatives at the intersection of technology and humanities while also enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of our physical spaces for teaching, learning, and sustainability.
This position requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with strong administrative and project coordination skills as well as a background in developing and overseeing digital humanities initiatives. This position will be responsible for managing multiple small or medium complex projects, from conception through delivery and will report directly to the Dean. In managing and overseeing the day-to-day operations and completion of special projects, the Project Manager will have supervisory responsibilities regarding research projects.
Position will work with internal and external resources to ensure projects are completed on time and within the established budget and scope. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of digital humanities projects, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and contribute to cutting-edge research and scholarship.
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree; Three (3) or more years experience in a relevant field; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
Ph.D. degree along with five (5) or more years of experience in a relevant field.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Lead and oversee digital humanities research projects from inception to completion at the Dean's discretion.
• Collaborate with faculty members, researchers, and stakeholders to identify research priorities and develop project proposals.
• Provide strategic guidance and project management support to ensure projects meet objectives, timelines, and budgetary constraints.
• Foster interdisciplinary collaboration and facilitate partnerships with external organizations to enhance research outcomes.
• Serve as a liaison between faculty, staff, administrators, and external partners involved in digital humanities research and space optimization efforts.
• Communicate project updates, milestones, and outcomes to stakeholders through presentations, reports, and other mediums.
• Facilitate discussions and workshops to promote awareness and understanding of digital humanities research methodologies.
• Responsible for maximizing the utilization of the Bass School spaces including classrooms, offices, labs, and other areas.
• Will assist and consult with the Dean on various projects related to capacity management and utilization with consideration to School growth trends.
• Will work independently to perform assignments with instruction as to the general results expected.
• Assist with preparing annual reports needed by the Dean and upon request.
• Assist with budget development, forecasting, monitoring, and fiscal reporting.
• Manage financial resources allocated to digital humanities research projects and space optimization initiatives, ensuring effective budgetary planning and adherence to funding requirements.
• Coordinate procurement processes for equipment, software, and other resources necessary for project implementation and space enhancements.
• Supervise and coordinate the work of graduate research assistants and undergraduate students.
• The position requires occasional travel for research related work.
