HDR is looking for a Project Manager - Water Utility Consulting to join our Water Business Group team in either Charlotte, Raleigh, or Winston-Salem, NC. Primary duties will include working with Project Managers/Senior Consultants to perform specialized engineering consulting services in areas that may include: utility management/asset management, business process assessments, strategic planning, operations optimization, regulatory support, system conveyance, master planning, technology selection/on-boarding, data management/visualization, or financial planning and utility rates. They will implement a range of best management practices with water, wastewater, and/or stormwater utilities including asset management and maintenance management best practices. They will also provide technical support for the implementation of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and enterprise asset management systems (EAMS) to support a water, wastewater, or stormwater utility. They will perform analyses of large utility maintenance management systems, and/or condition assessment databases to support inspection, condition assessment, and planning programs. They will also be expected to perform database assessments and analyses, GIS analyses, computer programming, and/or desire to implement information systems and technology solutions to support infrastructure planning. The ideal candidate should have experience with planning and implementation of infrastructure inspection and condition assessment programs, as well as planning and implementation of asset management strategies for utilities. They must be able to lead project or tasks associated with business process analysis, workshop facilitation and data warehouse design. They will also be expected to direct production staff and perform client management activities to support our South Atlantic Area based team.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • BS degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related technical discipline required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in water and/or wastewater utility operation or related engineering
  • Experience with software requirement gathering and development, selecting business information system solutions and software implementation
  • Excellent communication skills, business skills, team building skills, and project team skills
  • Strong computer skills with CMMS (Oracle WAM, Maximo, Hansen, EMPAC, GBA MS, Cityworks), and GIS (ESRI, Small Work, Intergraph), and other various database type platforms
  • Must have strong analytical skills with the ability to compile and present summary level information
  • Must have the ability to obtain, cleanse, merge and analyze data from multiple sources
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and strong relationship, organizational and follow-up skills
  • Must be a self-starter with proven track record of accomplishments
  • An attitude and commitment to be an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must


Preferred Qualifications

  • MS degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related technical discipline a plus
  • Local candidates are preferred
