The Project Specialist will contribute to the success of Digital through the management of one or more mid to large, enterprise-wide projects, and the resources associated with these projects.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop project goals, objectives, approach, and scope through negotiation and diplomacy that result in a well defined, well sponsored project.
  • Develop workplan and timeline to meet project goals.
  • Develop Digital IS strategies and solutions that comply with MGB Digital standards and strategic directions.
  • Develop capital and operating funding requirements associated with a project. Manage project within allocated budget
  • Primarily function as an autonomous decision maker, but recognize when the involvement of senior management is required.
  • Plan, manage and over-see project, utilizing recognized project management methodology including activities such as:
    • Definition of project scope and objectives
    • Management and status reporting tools
    • Feasibility and cost benefit studies
    • Requirements definition (functional and/or technical)
  • System testing/quality assurance
  • Training, Implementation, Post-implementation/on-going support
  • Project administrative activities
  • Documentation
  • Manage Digital projects within the context of the larger environment including competing priorities, staffing levels, budgetary concerns. Provide appropriate and timely problem escalation reporting (and potential solutions if applicable) to both Digital management, project steering committee, and executive hospital management
  • Provide on-going project status reports to internal Digital management, user groups, project steering committee and executive hospital management.
  • Negotiate and acquire enterprise-wide resources necessary to appropriately implement the project.
  • Establish and create a positive project environment through leadership and mentoring.
  • Provide quality customer service and serve as an exemplary representative of MGB Digital. On-going communication, feedback and follow-through with customers and executive hospital management is essential.


Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience working on hardware related projects, desktop experience highly preferred
  • PMP or other project management certification preferred
  • 5+ years healthcare experience is preferred
  • 5+ years IS experience preferred
  • A combination of Education and relevant experience can be considered
