J ob Title: Laboratory Technician Protein Conversion - B Shift

Wed 11 pm - 5:00 am

Thurs. - Sat. 5:00 pm - 5:30 am

Location: Broadway, VA Protein Conversion

Position Summary:

Under general supervision performs a variety of routine laboratory operations in accordance to quality assurance. Duties usually consist of making measurements, performing several routine quantitative and qualitative chemical analytical tests, performing routine calculations and determinations on tests, and evaluating physical characteristics. Uses standard laboratory glassware and equipment or one or two complex pieces of equipment. Train new Lab Technicians. Be a relieve lab tech when someone is out or on vacation. Willing to work days and nights. Help train plant employees on CGMP's and willing to travel for training.

Education and Experience Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED preferred. Basic Computer Skills (e.g. Microsoft Office) Must be able to pass a background check, lab experience preferred

Skill Summary:

• Performs laboratory work according to prescribed standards, Train new Technician & Employees on CGMP's
• Determines chemical and physical characteristics or composition.
• Sets up, adjusts, and operates laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Analyzes samples. Performs laboratory tests according to prescribed standards. Tests for nutritional properties of feed and ingredients and pesticides.

• Tests samples to verify conformity to specifications. Records test results.
• Cleans laboratory equipment.
• Calibrates laboratory instruments.
• Safechemical handling
