POSITION SUMMARY:

The PRSC provides direct and indirect rehabilitation services to both individuals and groups of members served.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Demonstrates the facility mission, purpose, values and beliefs in everyday language and contact with the internal and external stakeholders
• Assists with the Special Treatment Program Rehab/Nursing elements on their assigned shift
• Provides safe, effective and efficient implementation of daily activities in accordance with established policies, procedures and standards of care
• Establishes and maintains a therapeutic relationship with members served
• Assists and co-leads therapeutic activity groups.
• Acts as a role model and a member of the Rehabilitation Nursing Staff
• Participates in and assists with rehabilitation groups and activities
• Attends shift report and assists in providing unit supervision as needed
• Knowledgeable of the inventory and how to obtain equipment and supplies for activity programs as directed
• Maintains order and cleanliness of the Activity Rooms
• Promotes and assists members served in developing self-help skills
• Reviews and implements members served treatment plans
• Actively participates in multidisciplinary team meetings and treatment planning meetings
• Responds to emergency/crisis situations
• Demonstrates knowledge Professional Assault Response Training techniques
• Observes, records and reports members served social, symptomatic, and psychiatric
• Regular on-time attendance for all scheduled shifts

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• High School Graduate or High School Equivalency

• Desire to work with individuals with serious mental illness

• Must be CPR, ProAct or Crisis Prevention Institute, and First Aid certified on date of employment or within 60 days of employment and maintain current certification throughout employment

• Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Sociology or Social Work
