The House Float Tech will be assigned to different departments depending on staffing needs. Set on 50 private acres, Spring Harbor Hospital is southern Maine's only private psychiatric treatment and recovery center. Our inpatient programs for youth and adults provide hope for those who suffer from a variety of mental illnesses and co-occurring disorders such as substance use disorder.

Position Highlights:

• Sign-on bonus: Up to $2,000, amount prorated for part-time
• Base hourly rate: $19.92

What you will do:

• Develop a working knowing of therapeutic interventions and interactions for common diagnosis of population served.
• Maintain the unit schedule and facilitate timely transitions.
• Assist patients with Daily Living Skills (ADLs) as directed by an RN

Responsibilities:

• Follow patient's treatment and behavior plan.
• Conduct environmental rounds as assigned and remove any sharps or prohibited items.
• Facilitate milieu based community groups and leisure/recreation groups
• Accompany patients on transports as assigned

Position Summary

• The House Float Psych Tech contributes to the achievement of quality care and patient outcomes by maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu. To accomplish this goal, the House Float Psych Tech provides care and emotional support to patients as assigned. He/She will be assigned to different departments depending on staffing needs. He/She may also assist with the collection and documentation of data and in cooperation with the treatment team members, implements individualized treatment plans.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

• Education: High School diploma and equivalent experience preferred. Bachelor's degree in Psychology preferred.
• License/Certifications: N/A
• Experience: 1+ years of experience and/or coursework in a social services related field required.
• Demonstrates a proficiency in all aspects at the entry level position
• Must be able to annually demonstrate competency in seclusion and restraint training
