The Public Relations Coordinator - Advanced will:
  • Communicate HCA's Vision of Every New Mexican has access to affordable health care coverage through a coordinated and seamless health care system and HCA's Mission of making New Mexico healthy;
  • Ensure that New Mexicans attain their highest level of health by providing whole person, cost effective, accessible and high-quality health care and safety net services;
  • Serve as the go to liaison for all media inquiries concerning behavioral health, directing media relations to secure accurate coverage;
  • Provide and produce a wide range of content tailored for different platforms and audiences to include press releases, social media updates, and website content.


How does it get done?

The Public Relations Coordinator - Advanced is responsible for:
  • Managing communications with stakeholders such as parties, families, and the public across other community groups;
  • Developing and disseminating all required public notices, messages and respond to media inquiries related to behavioral health utilizing Linked In, Facebook, and Twitter to reach as many New Mexicans as possible;
  • Maintaining a consistent brand image across various platforms to elevate the HCA brand, magnify outcomes, and safeguard the organizations reputation;
  • Overseeing the evaluation of communication initiatives and campaigns by analyzing data to guide future efforts, report results to leadership, track legislative developments; assess the impact and effectiveness of Public Relations campaigns through thorough research to refine image and operational tactics.

  • Health Care Authority (HCA);
  • Behavioral Health Services Division (BHSD);
  • The Behavioral Health Division program staff;
  • Stakeholders.


Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate has:
  • Three to five years of marketing and communications experience;
  • Knowledge of marketing principles, strategies, and tactics relevant to behavioral healthcare;
  • Experience in creating marketing campaigns, developing content, managing social media, and utilizing digital marketing tools;
  • Experience in community engagement, outreach, and partnership development;
  • Cultural competency to include sensitivity and awareness of diverse cultures, communities, and perspectives relation to behavioral health.


Minimum Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in marketing and two (2) years of experience in journalism, advertising and and/or marketing. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.

Working Conditions

Work will be performed primarily in an office setting, but on occasion will be performed in the outdoors during all types of weather conditions and in close proximity to fish and wildlife. Weekend and varied hours occasionally will be required for this position. Must be able to lift 60 pounds and operate computers and photography equipment.
