Job Duties

Responsible for public relations on a district-wide basis or in the central office for part of an agency-wide program, including communications and public awareness programs for fund raising, public/media relations, design and distribution of publications, promotion of services or programs to other public and private sector groups and media representatives. May deliver presentations or speak on behalf of the work unit. Responds to media inquiries or promotes programs. Work is carried out independently, with management being informed of potentially sensitive activities.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be able to work independently and as a team member with multiple priorities,
• Must have the ability to communicate effectively, clearly and concisely verbally and in writing with a variety of people; maintain confidentiality when appropriate
• Strong computer skills and knowledge of professional design and communications
• Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret goals, objectives, policies, and procedures
• Experience in public relations and marketing tools and developing visually appealing materials; in broadcast media, print media, commercial art, or compatible field
• Proficient in MS Office Suite
