Description

  • Provide prevention and detection of criminal activity and safety hazards
  • Enforce traffic, parking, student code of conduct, and other district regulations
  • Provide overall assistance to the school campus community
  • Assist in restraining, apprehending, and escorting disruptive or arrested individuals
  • Patrol all exterior and interior areas of the campus, while ensuring direct interaction with students and district personnel within the assigned jurisdiction
  • Write factual, clear, legible, and concise reports of unusual activities and criminal incidents occurring on or near the campus
  • Resolve conflict or confrontation between students, district personnel, visitors, or other persons on the assigned campus
  • Report all incidents or criminal activity immediately to the supervisor
  • Adhere to policies and procedures of the Board of Trustees, the district, and the Police and Security department.
  • Adhere to existing district and department grooming standards and dress policies at all times for uniformed personnel
  • Attend all scheduled meetings as required by the supervisor


Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Required High School Diploma or GED
  • Required valid Texas driver's license
  • Willing to undergo a criminal background check and drug screening
  • Ability to perform responsibilities with minimum supervision
  • Composure to de-escalate conflict situations
  • Knowledge of relevant security equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective school security operations for the protection of people, data and property
  • Competency to deal sensitively and fairly with people from diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Ability to effectively interface with students, parents, and all levels of District personnel in writing and verbally
  • Able to maintain the confidentiality of information
  • Organizational, prioritization, communication, and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of the position
  • Must be computer literate and willing to attend training sessions
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a preferred
