DESCRIPTION

UC San Diego Health (UCSDH) is Joint Commission Accredited with Disease-Specific Certification in CKD, VAD, and Comprehensive Stroke. UCSDH has been recognized as being among the top 10 in quality and safety among academic medical centers, an "A" rated performer with Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, among other national recognitions.

The Quality Compliance Specialist supports the functions of the department in the assessment, measurement, and reporting of ongoing compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and California Department of Public Health Standards (CDPH). Supports and coordinates The Joint Commission, CMS, CDPH, and all other survey activities for UC San Diego Health's multiple sites.

The Quality Compliance Specialist works in collaboration with key members of the organization in the development and execution of educational activities and materials for ongoing survey readiness of all levels of personnel, medical staff, residents, and other students. Works with key stakeholders to support safe care and help lead our journey of high reliability.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Nine (9) years of relevant experience in a large, complex healthcare environment OR five (5) years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant area and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience and proven success in knowledge of the methods, tools, and practices involved with regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of TJC standards, CDPH Regulatory and Licensing requirements, and Federal and State Regulatory compliance.
  • Effective interpersonal skills for collaborating effectively with managers and staff at all levels and across the organization, as well as with representatives of external regulatory agencies. Skills in coaching and mentoring staff.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to lead a team, prioritize tasks, and see projects through from inception to completion on schedule.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's level education/degree in a relevant area.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the state of California.

  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $112,100 - $216,500 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $53.69 - $103.69

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
