We have an excellent opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join our team onsite in Fremont, CA. Our ideal candidate will have experience inspecting materials, equipment, processes, and products, developing quality control systems, test plans and defining the criteria a test result should meet, determine preventive and corrective actions. You will generate a strategic plan to improve the business processes and the quality of our product. Collaborate with managers and supervisors to implement quality measures. This position reports to the Quality Manager.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor quality technicians providing training and customer feedback
  • Lead and mentor other departments with QA data analysis, trending, and reporting
  • Performs customer technical contract reviews to understand customer's requirements and develop effective quality control plans
  • Manages corrective action process (CAPA)using 8D, fishbone, 5 why's methodology
  • Monitor supplier quality performance
  • Develops and directs continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain up to date current AS9100 and ISO 9001 Registration
  • Maintain up to date IPC and J-STD certification for QA staff
  • Maintain databases and records for company's KPI's. Process QA requests, ensuring owners are assigned, and timely responses are provided in alignment with quality goals
  • Set department objectives/KPIs, review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports
  • Lead meetings and communications for QA system information, concerns, and updates
  • Collaborate with the upper management team to set quality benchmarks
  • Interface with all departments and customers ensuring optimum support
  • Manages customer audits, source inspections and regulatory agency compliance
  • Assist Manufacturing and Engineering in preparing SOP and work instructions
  • Performs complex testing and inspections
  • Documents and reports issues found during in-coming, in-process and final inspection
  • Produces formal test plans; leads the testing effort for assigned project
  • Ensures that test plans, inspection and scenarios fully exercise every aspect of the product
  • Make crucial decisions in favor of cost-efficiency without compromising on quality
  • Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualities:
  • Exercises Certified ISO 9001 auditor and knowledge of AS9100 standards
  • Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings, wiring and backplane schematics
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of computer operating systems, such as VxWorks and Linux
  • IPC-A-610 Specialist/Trainer certification
  • J-STD -001 certification
  • Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Access experience
  • Knowledge of statistics data, SPC, Minitab, pareto, control charts
  • Knowledge of PCB
  • Previous experience on Military specification and AS9102 first article inspections
  • Experience on system level testing
  • Familiar with various measuring devices (oscilloscopes, calipers, Multimeter, etc.)
  • Ability to pay attention to small details, analytical problem-solving and trouble shooting skills
  • Strong English written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous experience in electronic products
  • Previous experience in a Production Engineering environment and in a Quality role
  • Previous experience on customer interaction,
  • Previous experience on third part and customer audits
  • Lead and mentor others with QA data analysis, trending, and reporting
  • Abi Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Education/Certifications:
  • BS in electrical or electronic engineering or other related area
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in related field, preferably in the electronics industry as it relates to custom builds systems, manufacturing involving of PCB and high-level testing.
