Job Title: Quality Engineer
Job Summary:
The quality engineer is responsible for investigating and troubleshooting product and process related
issues while acting as a liaison between us and its external customers.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Investigate problems and develop disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies.
Recommend corrective actions, dispositions and modifications.
• Develop and implement program quality plans, programs, and procedures using statistical
quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and Lean-Six Sigma tools and analyses.
Lead and/or participate in quality process improvement projects.
• Facilitate and lead effective 8D investigations by coordinating cross-functional problem-solving
teams.
• Train plant staff on quality procedures.
• Perform routing go-and-see, FPLP approval, and layered process audits.
• Update work instructions and critical documentation such as PFMEAs, control plans, and E
Dockets as necessary.
• Perform material testing and diagnosis/recommendations for purchased products exhibiting
either poor quality or poor performing characteristics.
• Provide customer requested documentation of claim details.
• Follow established process for handling customer deductions forwarded by accounts receivable.
• Serve as neutral party between customer and organization in claim investigation.
• Other duties, as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Demonstrated experience in developing and/or updating control plans and FMEA's.
• Experience with researching and issuing corrective actions.
• Strong written, verbal and telephone communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills
• Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, and
function specific software.
• Strong attention to detail & organizational skills.
• Strong technical aptitude.
• Some travel may be required (

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant work experience
• 2 or more years technical experience needed, automotive a plus.
• Lean/ Six Sigma green belt or higher a plus
• ASQ CQE/CQM a plus
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work on your feet on the plant floor for extended periods
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to perform minor heavy lifting
