As a Quality Engineer Senior Manager at Cognizant, you will work on extremely complex tasks and problems of diverse scope, including implementations, upgrades, enhancements, integration, and defect fixes. You will also assist, instruct, and train team members within the same context. You will be responsible for designing testing requirements and writing, communicating, and verifying test executions, with a focus on test automation and performance throughout the entire software development life cycle.

Job Title: Quality Engineer Senior Manager

Role: Individual Contributor Internal Facing Role

Essential Functions:

Design and Development: Design, script, and develop automated software test suites based on user stories and acceptance criteria.

Test Execution: Perform complex functional, integration, regression, and performance tests. Execute test cases, report bugs, and verify bug fixes.

Agile Participation: Participate in the Agile software development process and accurately groom stories to account for testing and quality metrics.

Mentorship: Train and mentor peers in writing test cases, using automation tools, executing automated scripts, and estimating User Stories.

Expertise: Act as the functional, technical, and subject matter expert, achieving high-level results with minimal direction. Continually gain knowledge of applications from a general to intermediate/expert level.

Quality Assurance: Contribute to developing and implementing Quality Assurance best practices and process improvements.

Test Maintenance: Maintain and update tests as application requirements change.

Collaboration: Collaborate with developers, product owners, other stakeholders, and project stakeholders to understand project requirements, identify test scenarios, design test cases, and create testing artifacts (Test Strategy/Test Plan). Ensure comprehensive test coverage and effective collaboration.

Reporting: Report on test status, test coverage, and risks to the project team.

Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest testing trends and tools.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.

An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Experience:

Minimum of 15 years' related experience in a software test automation environment.
  • 10+ years of experience in QA/testing roles, including at least 5 years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of QA practices and principles, including automation and manual testing.
  • Experience in designing Automation frameworks.
  • Experience with automation for C# .Net Core MVC API and automation of QA for frontend angular technologies, Postman for API testing.
  • Experience with software development methodologies, such as Agile and source control Azure Repo Git.
  • Experience with testing tools and frameworks such as Selenium, XUnit, and NUnit.
  • Knowledge of capturing and diagnosing logs for any application crashes.
  • Defect logging and defect tracking until bug closure using tools like Azure DevOps.
  • Experience in a cloud platform such as Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong understanding of Git.
  • Solid knowledge of MS SQL Server.
  • Experience in DevOps environments like Azure CI/CD Pipeline for test automation.
