Quality Manager

Your role and responsibilities

Notifying others if unsafe situations are observed, and utilizing safety systems to perform work, resulting in an accident-free workplace Providing assistance to other functional teams to deploy incoming test protocols and to perform first article and chemical inspections Working with others to improve test protocols and capability, creating greater efficiency, accuracy and reliability of test outcomes Utilizing Lean 6 Sigma to collect, record, and evaluate quantitative metrics that provide descriptive data for the determination of compliance to requirements Perform thorough RCA's and implement robust CAPA's preferably non-administrative Training operators in basic quality test and inspection routines to aid in quality-at-source processes Driving improvements to manufacturing, assembly, inspection, and test techniques based on experience and knowledge of trends and equipment Providing backup to the primary for laboratory analysis of epoxy and urethane type materials used in production All other duties as assigned

Qualifications for the role

  • A Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as engineering, or science is preferred
  • 1 year experience in a quality role within a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Sound knowledge of different methodologies of problem solving (RCA and CAPA) such as 5Y, 8D, 3A, etc. as well as FMEA, Control Plans, APQP, Lean, and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Some experience in a laboratory setting is preferred
  • Knowledge of SAP, Windchill, or Document Control systems are a plus
  • A collaborative, solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills
  • Proficient at Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Familiar with Minitab or Power BI is preferred
  • Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, CQE, or CQA are a plus
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
