POSITION TITLE: Radiology Scheduling Coordinator

Who you are

Assumes responsibility for all facets of Invasive Scheduling, scheduling exams, answering incoming calls, obtaining prior authorizations and other duties as assigned in accordance with the DNV and government standards, as well as policies and procedures of the Radiology Department.

What you'll do

Under the direct supervision of the Administrative Supervisor of Diagnostic Radiology and within established policies and procedures, the incumbent performs the following functions:

1. Essential Functions:
  1. Schedules procedures and related exams appropriate hospital departments. Completes and emails appropriate paperwork to the Admissions department including external Radiology Referrals and STAT Add ons.
  2. Ensures insurance information is accurate, reaching out to patients to update when needed.
  3. Register patients in Sunrise for our new patients as needed
  4. Performs outbound calls for outside referrals
    e. Answers phone calls concerning scheduling and procedures, accurately transferring phone calls to appropriate sand physicians

f. Answers phone calls concerning scheduling and procedures, accurately transferring phone calls to appropriate staff members and physicians.

g. Communicates pertinent information regarding procedure, including exam preparation to patients.

h. Complete all order entry functions utilizing a variety of PC applications to include obtaining physicians/patients history information for purpose of medical necessity and reimbursement, revisions of requisitions, and the reading of patient reports.

i. Coordinate and confirm accurate orders, authorization and insurance eligibility for imaging procedures as needed.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required

Experience :

• Two to three years' experience in health care setting performing similar work activities including, but not limited to scheduling procedures and prior authorization knowledge.
