Recreation Aide

Location: West Haven Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation

Position: Part-time/Full-time. Weekend availability is a must!

About Us: West Haven Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation is dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care to our residents. We are seeking a dedicated Recreation Aide to join our team and help enhance the well-being of our residents through engaging and therapeutic activities.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing a variety of recreational programs to meet the social, emotional, and physical needs of our residents.
• Lead and facilitate daily activities, such as group games, arts and crafts, musical activities, and social gatherings.
• Encourage and support residents' participation in activities that promote social connection, mental engagement, and enjoyment.
• Collaborate with the Recreation Director to assess and tailor activities to suit the interests and needs of our residents.
• Maintain accurate documentation of resident participation and feedback on activities.
• Ensure all activities are conducted in a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment.

Qualifications:

• Experience in a similar role, particularly within a nursing home or long-term care setting, is preferred.
• A genuine passion for working with residents to enhance their quality of life.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Creativity and enthusiasm in planning and conducting activities.
