Job Summary

As a Truck Driver, CDL B Roll Off, for Refuse/Recycle, you will:

• Operate specialized CDL required heavy equipment for the use of removing refuse and recycle materials from campus.
• Maneuver vehicles/trucks/equipment in areas with congestion of pedestrians and traffic.
• Broad knowledge of area to determine when to deviate from schedule to meet the business and customer needs.
• Responsible for making moderate to significant improvements to meet the business need as operations change.
• Responsible for communicating with all parties within and outside of the Refuse/Recycle area in regard to the relationship of material handling and policies, practices and procedures.
• Work independently with limited supervision to complete daily work assignments with significant impact to the campus community.

Hours: 6am to 230pm

What We're Looking For:

Education & Experience:

• HS diploma/GED required.
• 3 years' experience in the operations of refuse/recycling equipment or similar type equipment such as semi- trucks, straight trucks, or heavy equipment.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Responsible for providing guiding, coaching, and training to temporary and student staff within the job area.
• Responsible for data collection and reporting within projects assigned from a higher level.
• Ability and need to maneuver large vehicles in congested, narrow, tight areas around people vehicles and structures.
• Transport debris to appropriate disposal site.
• Unload refuse containers including compactors using large refuse trucks.
• Deliver refuse to specified landfill or disposal area.
• Pick up and dispose of trash and large items from around trash containers on campus.
• Remove and dispose of dead animals from various campus locations.
