Duties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Provide professional nursing services to individuals with developmental disabilities. Services may include, but are not limited to, nursing interventions and their documentation, case finding, health teaching/counseling and provision of supportive and/or restorative care. They also participate in staff training, prepare clinical and administrative reports, maintain infection control standards, and function as a member of a treatment team.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform Nursing duties and act as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
• Act as a triage nurse; accepting calls from the six-county catchment area and providing nursing guidance to direct care staff/LPNs, as needed.
• As needed, Nursing coverage at Medical Homes across the Broome District.
• Perform other duties as assigned, details to be discussed during interview.

Additional Comments Posted Hiring Salary includes the sum of the statutory hiring rate for PEF Grade 18 ($65,001), the increase hiring rate ($8,928) and Geographic Pay Differential ($20,000). Geographic Pay Differential is added to the job rate ($82,656) for the PEF Grade 18. Additional Compensation may apply based on shift assignment.

NY HELPS This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS). HELPS Program titles may be filled via a non-competitive appointment. This means that you do not need to take an exam to qualify, but you do need to meet the minimum qualifications of the title.
If you are hired under the HELPS Program, you will be first be appointed as a temporary employee. In June 2024, if you are performing successfully in the position, your appointment will be changed from temporary to permanent non-competitive. Once you are in permanent status, your official probationary period will begin and you may take any promotion exam for which you are qualified. At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), employees hired under NY HELPS are expected to have their permanent non-competitive employment status converted to permanent competitive status. You will not have to take an exam to gain permanent competitive status.
