A CCU (Critical Care Unit) Registered Nurse is responsible for providing advanced level nursing care to critically ill patients in a hospital setting. Some of the key duties and responsibilities of a CCU RN include:
Monitoring vital signs and administering medications, treatments, and procedures as ordered by the physician.
Assessing and interpreting patient's conditions and communicating any changes or concerns to the physician and other healthcare team members.
Developing and implementing patient care plans and ensuring that the patient's needs and goals are met.
Administering and monitoring mechanical ventilation, hemodynamic monitoring, and other advanced medical treatments.
Assisting in diagnostic procedures such as angiograms, CT scans, and bronchoscopies.
Providing emotional support and education to patients and their families.
Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.
Documenting patient assessments, treatments, and progress in the medical record.
The ideal candidate for a CCU RN position should have a current nursing license, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, and at least two years of experience working in a critical care unit. Additionally, they should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
This is a not full time but contracted travel position.
