The Clinical Quality Specialist will serve as an expert in the regulatory standards which drive our performance in publicly reported measures coupled with the knowledge of clinical practice, workflow, and process to support successful performance for the institution. This individual will also assist in the coordination of Joint Commission continuous survey readiness, and actual survey activities. He or she may be asked to assist with state or federal surveys as needed. The Clinical Quality Specialist communicates regularly with the System Director of Quality and Accreditation Services regarding any identified issues of concern regarding noncompliance and ensures appropriate follow-up.

Required Knowledge & Skills

Education: Associate Degree or 2 years of college coursework

Experience: Two years of related experience. Requires working knowledge of specialized practices, equipment, and procedures.

Licenses and Certifications

GEORGIA REGISTERED NURSE LICENSE OR MULTISTATE NURSING LICENSE

Supervision

No Direct Supervision Required: however, will need to utilize facilitative communication to support improvement in process.

Qualifications
  • *Registered Nursing License in the State of Georgia with clinical experience in the provision of care. * *Experience in acute care setting required and preferred experience with Joint Commission survey preparedness. experience in the application of regulatory standards helpful. * *Understands statistical analysis, and Performance Improvement methodology for report generation. * *Demonstrated ability to orchestrate people and events, to build networks and work with diverse people, and to persuade others logically. * *Skill in planning and project management. * * Independent work ethic with highly professional manner, positive and flexible attitude, and ability to work cross functionally. * *Effective communication and presentation skills. * *Good organizational skills and accuracy, including strong attention to detail, and timely follow-up required. * *Ability to build constructive and cooperative working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders and maintain them over time. * *Knowledge of the use of EMR both in active documentation and retrospective review. * * Knowledgeable in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite and Internet.
