Registered Nurse (RN) Float Pool

Float Pool - Benefit Eligible

Float Pool Nurses serve Med Surg/Post Surgical, Neuro Med Surg Tele, Renal Med Surg Tele, Tele, IMC, ICU and ED units as long as the nurse has experience in those areas.

We offer an additional $10.00/hr float pool bonus and our lucrative MedStar Health benefit package. This is an excellent opportunity for those who need benefits, but still can receive the additional float pool hourly premium! The minimum requirement is 1 year of Med Surg Tele RN experience within the last five years.

Schedule:

Full Time Days (three 12-hour shifts & every 3 rd weekend)

Education

• Associate's degree from an accredited school of nursing required; bachelors degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing preferred. Bachelor's degree in nursing enrollment required within 6 months of start date and completion within 3 years

Experience

• 2 years of RN experience required; 1 year of medical surgical telemetry RN experience strongly preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• RN-Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure required upon hire. CPR certification; ACLS strongly preferred

Identifies current and potential complex problems of specific patient populations, critically analyzes trends and changes in patient status, and plans appropriate interventions.

Incorporates evidence-based practice and research into patient care delivery, with a focus on quality and safety.

Serves as a patient advocate by independently communicating clinical concerns, including ethical decisions, in a timely manner to other members of the interdisciplinary team.

Practices within legal boundaries of nurse practice act and possesses a theoretical understanding of the universal ethical principles. Recognizes ethical discourse in practice and may seek other resources in advocacy for support and counsel.

Individualizes patients plan of care, focusing on short and long-range goals and effectively uses a variety of teaching resources to meet the learning needs of patients and families.
