Position Summary (This position will consist of 40 hours per week.)
The Registered Nurse will safely administer chemotherapeutic agents to patients in the Cancer Care Center. Displays clinical proficiency, which includes the management and safe delivery of age-specific patient centered care (encompassing young adult to geriatric clients) through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of overt and covert changes in clinical conditions of oncology patients in accordance with prescribed standards. Provides care and instruction to patients and families from a basis of specialized knowledge in oncology nursing. Plans and assigns work to unit support staff and professional nursing, as needed.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education: Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing. License/Certification: Current License as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maine; Current BLS Certification Experience: A minimum of one year in an acute care setting preferred. Other Certification: As required by department, including Annual Electronic Fetal Monitoring competency for any RN assisting Laboring Women. Achievement of professional certification in oncology nursing through ONS/ONCC within 2 years of hire. Must maintain certification thereafter.
