Summary

For a limited time MaineHealth is offering a $10,000 Sign on bonus for all eligible Registered Nurses with up to 2 years of RN experience and $20,000 for Registered Nurses with greater than 2 years of RN work experience!

Pediatric Nephrology is looking for an RN to join the team. Critical thinking skills are needed to apply knowledge to interpreting lab results. The RN will complete point of care urine testing and will prepare patients to be seen by the provider by completing vital signs and a brief history.

The candidate we're seeking has pediatric nursing experience. Hospital, outpatient or home health experience is ideal for this position.

Teamwork is a necessity as this practice is co-located with Pediatric Infectious Disease and the nursing staff work together to support vaccinating patients coming into both clinics. There is the opportunity for additional cross training as well.

The schedule for this 20-hour position will be Monday and Friday 8:30 am-5 pm and Thursday 8:30 am-12:30 pm.
  • Position Summary
    • Under the direction of physicians, this position is responsible for assisting with total patient care by performing clinical duties, responding to patient telephone inquiries, and coordinating care both at the office and at outside facilities.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: Completion of nursing training from an accredited school of nursing.
    • License/Certifications: Active State of Maine Nursing License or eligible for licensure. Current BLS required
    • Experience: Two Years of experience preferred.
    • Knowledge of nursing processes; health care systems, structure and functions; and community resources.
    • Knowledge of chart/medical record documentation requirements and federal/state laws related to release of health care information.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary for interacting with patients, physicians, supervisors and other staff.
    • Skill in time management, problem solving, multitasking, prioritizing and medical care coordination.
    • Ability to read and interpret physicians? orders and notes from other providers.
    • Ability to calculate and administer drug dosages and injections and measure results.
    • Ability to organize and accomplish multiple tasks and to have the flexibility to meet changing demands on a daily basis.
    • Ability to maintain a professional manner even under stressful situations.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • Proficient computer skills.
