Registered Nurse Post Surgical Unit Clinical Coordinator at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Trophy Club:

  • Under the supervision of the director, the supervisor is responsible for the director with operational issues related to coordination of patient care, development of employees, utilization of resources, and performance improvement thereby achieving an environment of excellence in clinical quality, safety and service by supporting the hospital mission, vision and facility goals.
  • The supervisor helps identify cost-effective systems needed to support the business of the department.
  • The supervisor maintains compliance with professional nursing, TJC and all federal/state standards of care.
  • This position establishes effective working relationships with all constituencies including patients, physicians, employees and vendors.
  • The supervisor works with Senior Leadership in meeting facility goals.
  • The supervisor helps to oversee the Post-Surgical Unit as delegated by the director; functions as a staff nurse and/or charge nurse, as necessary.

Required Skills:

Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred

Licensure/Certification

• Current Texas RN License

• Current BLS & ACLS upon hire

Required Experience:

Specific Job Experience

Minimum five (5) years' experience as a RN in a critical care hospital unit or a Medical/Surgical department

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Competencies and responsibilities with each position are a combination of hospital wide and department specific standards.
  • The department specific standards include the competencies appropriate to the ages of the customer served.
  • The employee's competencies are evaluated on an on-going basis and formally documented at least annually as part of the performance appraisal process.

• Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient

• Experience with Electronic Healthcare Records
