Job Summary

Provide high quality medical care. This will include but is not limited to:
  • Recognition that the needs of the patient are primary, including consideration of their resources and cultural differences.
  • The need to refer for necessary specialty care and treatment.
  • Deliver medical care through telemedicine modalities.
  • Work as part of an integrated team with mental health professionals to deliver holistic, high quality care to students.
  • The content of medical records contains relevant information that is easily accessible to anyone working with the patient.
  • Continuing education necessary to acquire and maintain needed knowledge and skills.
  • Active participation in quality assurance activities.
  • Participation in public health activities.
  • Working effectively with the Medical Clinic staff.
  • Consultant for other staff members in the provision of health care.
  • Education of patients regarding their health care needs.


Other activities as determined by the Medical Director:
  • Participation in medical in-service education for Medical Clinic staff and consultant for medical components of patient/student education.
  • Serve as medical liaison and consultant for other campus departments.
  • Active involvement in the evaluation and modification of the provision of health care and associated programs. Recommendation of new services and programs as justified by student needs.
  • Preceptor for advanced practice nursing students.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Minnesota with national Nurse Practitioner certification and eligibility for DEA registration.
