Responsibilities*
Scrub and circulate in operating rooms assigned under the clinical supervision of a Charge Nurse, Clinical Supervisor or Clinical Nursing Director as appropriate. To rotate shift and accept call as assigned by Clinical Manager/Clinical Nursing Director. To assist in the teaching activities of the Operating Room.

This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C.
Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.

Required Qualifications*
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Michigan.
Two (2) years recent, within the last three (3) years, circulating and/or scrubbing in two of the following specialties: adult neurosurgery, adult otolaryngology, and/or adult oral maxillofacial surgery.
Ability to work with a non-responsive patient population.
Call commitment with 30 minute response time.
NOTE: All applicants selected to interview will complete a one day observation in the UH OR (unpaid).
In order to be considered for this position the applicant must have met or will have met all the required qualifications prior to the start date of employment.

A satisfactory attendance record proven by employment references. Demonstrated ability to handle stress, conflict and resolution.

Shift: Day/ Evening rotation, with call and weekend/ holiday obligations

We are pleased to announce that in the fall of 2025, U-M Health will be opening our newest hospital, the D. Dan and Betty Kahn Health Care Pavilion. The Pavilion Operating Room Unit will feature 20 operating suites with state-of-the-art equipment and instrumentation supporting the following specialties: neuro-anesthesiology, neurosurgery (including MR/OR), oral maxillofacial surgery, otolaryngology, spine, and general thoracic. Upon opening of the pavilion, these services will no longer be present at University Hospital operating rooms. Positions for the pavilion will be posted at a later date.
Note: This applies to UH OR Internship hires trained in these services.

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U-M Professional Nurse Council union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
