Hartford HealthCare Rehabilitation Network is the premier rehabilitation provider in Connecticut. We provide rehabilitation services across the continuum - acute care hospitals, long term care facilities, sub-acute rehabilitation, homecare, outpatient centers, and in community settings such as senior centers, work sites, and schools and colleges. We offer over 30 outpatient locations with a variety of specialists, including oncology, women's health, sports medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech language, we are known for our commitment to high quality, customer focused outcomes.

Our current Rehabilitation Aide opening is with Hartford Hospital, one of the largest and most respected teaching hospitals New England. We are a Level 1 Trauma Center that provides cutting edge treatment to its patients. This is made possible by being home to the largest robotic surgery center in the Northeast and the Center for Education, Simulation and Innovation (CESI), one of the most-advanced medical simulation training centers in the world. When hospitals cannot provide the advanced care, expertise and new treatment options their patients require, they turn to us.

Position Description
The Rehabilitation Aide provides safe and appropriate basic patient care under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist or Speech Language Pathologist. As a member of the rehabilitation team, the Rehabilitation Aide supports a safe and positive patient experience by assisting in the delivery of care and performing delegated multi-skilled basic patient care services.
The Rehabilitation Aide provides support and assistance to licensed Rehabilitation Therapists in areas such as (but not limited to): mobility, ADLs (Activities of Daily Living), movement and ambulation, and positioning. In addition, they may provide support to licensed Rehabilitation Therapists in areas such as therapeutic exercise programs, group exercise programs, mobility volunteer aide program, and swallowing studies.
This role contributes to the successful operation of the work area, and functions in accordance with all existing regulatory and company standards, policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Customer service experience and computer literacy required.
- Patient care/rehab aide experience highly preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year work experience and knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
- Certified or Non-Certified Nursing Support experience preferred (CNA, HHA, PCT)
- CPR validation may be required within 3 months of hire depending upon work area specific requirement.
- Must be able to physically lift and move patients in a safe manner.
