REMOTE Database Administrator

A Fortune 100 client's Aviation Analytics-focused program is currently looking for a Database Administrator to join their team. The program consists of a process and a broad portfolio of digital and analytic tools sitting on common cloud-based platforms. These tools provide the client's customers with a variety of capabilities to help them optimize their programs and maximize their mission success. Examples of capabilities include, but are not limited to, installing, configuring and upgrading database software to ensure security, integrity and availability. This individual will also be responsible for performing regular backups and recovery, monitoring database performance and perform tuning, as well as managing user access and permissions. As part of this program, youll work with a wide range of cutting edge software engineering technologies as well as the latest data science solutions in support of our Government and military customers around the world. That includes internal development activities as well as partnering with other industry leaders to bring the best of breed solutions to their customers. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and must be efficient in working both independently and across dynamic development organizations.

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of hands-on experience in database management and maintenance
Hands-on experience as a DBA in a public cloud environment, preferably AWS
Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server administration, including installation, configuration and maintenance
Strong understanding of database design and architecture
A technical bachelor's degree is required

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience with AWS GovCloud, Data Catalogue, or AWS RedShift
Hands-on experience with Oracle, Spark, and Kafka
Strong scripting skills with Python
Proficiency in PostgreSQL
Proficiency in Java or Scala
Experience in the aviation industry or other regulated industries
