RemX is seeking a Senior Benefits Consultant for our client that is an American marketplace for Medicare plans including Medicare Advantage, MediGap and Medicare Part D, which are programs administered through private health insurance companies.

  • Title: Senior Benefits Consultant Level 1, 2, or 3 (Inbound call Medicare sales)
  • Employment Type: Direct Hire
  • Salary: $19-$25 an hour Based on what level you are hired in at (Plus commission)
  • Location: Remote (Must reside in in EST, CST, or MST)
  • Normal Work Schedule: (majority of the year): M-F 8am-5pm CST; 9am-6pm EST
  • Start Dates: July 8: 160 starts, July 22: 170 starts, August 5: 110 starts, August 19: 100 starts
  • Training: 6 weeks
  • Equipment: You will receive a laptop and headset, and a stipend to obtain other work from home items
  • Special Seasonal Hours (8-week open annual enrollment period Oct 15 th thru Dec 7 th ): Extended hours will be required (some associates may work 14-hour shifts). Expected to work weekends (required to work the first and last weekend of open enrollment). Most candidates want to work extra hours during this time because they can earn a huge amount of bonus pay during this extra busy time!

Brief List of Responsibilities:
  • Call Center Sales experience needed.
  • Primarily handle inbound calls from consumers interested in saving on their Medicare expenses and optimizing their benefit coverage.
  • Assess and identify insurance needs of company customers over the phone.
  • Effectively educate and sell health insurance plans/products to customers while providing excellent service.
  • Candidates need to be comfortable selling from the major carriers such as, Aetna, Anthem, WellCare, Humana, and UHC (Candidates must sell from 2 of the above - 1 has to be Humana or UHC)
  • Guide consumers through the health insurance policy selection and application process.
  • Maintain call productivity and metrics per goals set.
  • Safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality by following the guidelines set forth in the Privacy and Security Rules of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)

Requirements:
  • High Speed Internet and a quiet home office environment.
  • Current health insurance license. (Licensed in state of residence)
  • Resides in an eligible state in one of the following time zones: EST, CST, or MST time zone.
  • Sales mindset and a desire to make bonus $.
  • Patience (most calls are with senior citizens)
  • 1+ years of Medicare Sales experience (2+ preferred)
  • Strong understanding of Medicare products.
  • Must have worked a minimum of 1 annual enrollment period (AEP)
  • Possess an understanding of, and perform against, KPIs.
  • Able to work full time and mandatory overtime during open enrollment.
  • They want Sales Mentality and love to see sales experience and/or health insurance experience with other companies as well.

Pay Structure Levels: Hourly base pay + bonuses.
  • $19 to $25 per hour base - (level 1 $19-21) (level 2 $21-23) (level 3 $23-25)
  • FYI our client gets nervous if candidates are only concerned about base pay ( You should feel confident you will hit goals and get bonus pay)
  • The hourly wage is based on AEP sales experience/performance capabilities/past AEP sales success.
  • Most candidates fall in Level 1 or 2
  • If you have are an amazing candidate with years of AEP Medicare sales experience, Level 3 base pay may be offered but that level has the highest targets and expectations -It is better to be assigned as a level 2 agent and max out on bonuses rather than be assigned as a level 3 agent and not meet goals.
  • 1st year agents make around $75k. Top agents make up to $150k (majority of $ is made during AEP)
