Remote INTL - INDIA - Feature Engineer

A client is looking for a Feature Engineer to focus on creating, modifying, and optimizing features for Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers to model. Rsponsibilities include:

1. Data Cleaning and Preprocessing: Preparing raw data by handling missing values, outliers, and inconsistencies.
2. Feature Creation: Generating new features from existing data through domain knowledge, mathematical transformations, and statistical techniques.
3. Feature Selection: Identifying the most relevant features to improve model performance and reduce complexity, often using techniques like correlation analysis, recursive feature elimination, or feature importance from models.
4. Data Transformation: Scaling, normalizing, and encoding features to ensure they are in the appropriate format for machine learning algorithms.
5. Domain Expertise: Applying knowledge of the specific domain to engineer features that capture relevant patterns and insights.
6. Iterative Improvement: Continuously refining features based on model performance and feedback from cross-validation or real-world testing.
7. Collaboration: Working closely with data scientists, machine learning engineers, and domain experts to understand the problem and the impact of different features on the models performance.

Required Skills & Experience

Role focuses on Feature Engineering/Data Transformation for downstream analytical processes
Partner with data engineers to ensure data access for discovery and proper data is prepared for model consumption.
Partner with ML engineers and data scientists working globally regarding data pipelines and data versioning and create scalable model ready data.
4+ years experience
Skills - Python, PySpark, Data Bricks, Azure platform, ADF, Datalake, Blob , Hive
Must be able to design a solution based on the requirements
Must have strong SQL writing experience
Must be good at data analysis and profiling
ETL Experience is good to have
Must be able to work independently and prioritize work across multiple projects

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Azure Dev Ops and CICD experience
Experience on Teradata/any RDBMS
