Remote INTL - INDIA/LATAM - Optimization Engineer

A global retail client is looking for an Optimization Engineer to join their Ecommerce group and sit remotely within India. They will use exact and heuristic algorithms to solve large scale optimization solutions with mass amounts of data comprised of millions of variables. They will focus on improving overall systems, processes, and products to achieve maximum efficiency and performance. Additional responsibilities include:
Develop complex models both exact and heuristic to simulate and optimize systems
Analyze systems by assessing current systems and processes to identify areas for improvement
Develop complex models both exact and heuristic to simulate and optimize systems
Implement solutions by designing and implementing optimization algorithms and techniques
Conducting experiments and tests to validate the effectiveness of proposed solutions
Collaborate closely with other engineers and stakeholders understand requirements and constraints
Continuously monitor and refine systems to ensure ongoing optimization through CI/CD best practices
Create decision-making and optimization strategies and solutions

Required Skills & Experience
- 4+ years of experience in Mathematical Modeling & Programming - Linear, Integer, Mixed Integer
- 2+ years of experience in Operations Research or Industrial Engineering
- Bachelors/Masters in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, or related field
- Experience working with business organizations and translate their requirements into mathematical formulation
- Hands on experience solving large-scale optimization models (millions of variables) à using exact & heuristic
- Strong programming experience using Python - can also have R, Java, C++, C#, or JavaScript
- Data wrangling experience using Python data structures, ETL, SQL, Oracle, or PySpark

Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Hands on experience using Gurobi for commercial solvers à can also have experience with CPLEX, Xpress, MATLAB, GAMS, COIN-OR
- Understanding of CI/CD build out of the model - Azure DevOps
- Stochastic and Dynamic Programming
