Insight Global is hiring a Remote Technical Writer to step in at a SaaS company while a team member is on leave for 4 months. This resource will join the Customer Onboarding and Education team and is responsible for our technical product documents and is a key contributor to the success of our customers. This role requires cross-functional collaboration to ensure our technical documentation is precise and accurate. The Technical Writer has broad responsibilities for working with our product and engineering teams to translate product releases into technical release notes for easy customer consumption and use. This resource will be creating user guides and release notes for two primary customer facing products. They will be working on external and internal release notes. The team they are joining is responsible for the first part of the customer journey, ensuring customers are receiving maximum and sustained value from our products from the very beginning of our relationship with the end goal of making sure that our customers renew at higher rates. This team ensures that the customers and end users have access to high quality training options throughout their entire lifecycle.

Prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical documents including reference manuals, product manuals, and product release notes.

Writes and edits procedural documentation.

Gather and analyze technical and product information from various sources to document new or changing product functionality.

Assist in planning, scheduling, and tracking documentation work to meet product release dates and customer deliverables.

Publish and maintain templates for written documentation produced by others, ensuring a consistent style and tone.

Work cross-functionally and collaboratively with product and engineering teams to build a technical writing calendar based on product release schedules for all products.

Identify content gaps and/or workflows.

Audit and edit content from across the customer organization.

Rapidly adapt to the needs of the team and the organization with a superior ability to quickly learn new products, processes, and systems.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree in English, Writing, or similar

Superior writing and grammatical skills

Strong technical aptitude and the ability to learn new products, tools, and concepts quickly

Ability to manage multiple competing priorities, rapidly adapt and respond to requests and timeline changes

Highly collaborative, organized, and execution-oriented with strong communication skills

Excellent project management skills with an emphasis on attention to detail, timelines, and quality of work

Able to be successful in a fact-paced environment that rewards hard work and self-motivation

Experience with Madcap Flare

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Previous experience in a SaaS/B2B environment

Previous technical writer experience

Experience with Salesforce
