Job Summary/Basic Function

General Information: The Outdoor Program (OP) Rental Center Specialist - Bike Technician will serve as a rental technician with specific increased responsibilities. This position requires previous experience (two full seasons) as a Rental Technician. The Rental Center Specialist - Bike Tech's primary responsibilities include tuning and maintaining bikes at the Outdoor Program. The OP depends on well-prepared bicycles to make the customer's experience. The Rental Center Specialist - Bike Tech reports to the Coordinator, Outdoor Program, and the Student Rental Center Manager but is expected to be proactive and be able to manage his or her own time and responsibilities.

Required Qualifications

Qualifications: One-year minimum experience in the Rental Technician position. American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Standard First Aid Certifications. Experience using, maintaining, and repairing both mountain and fat bikes. Personal interest in the outdoor recreation industry. Ability to work on independent projects and take initiative. Demonstrated problem-solving ability and decision-making ability based on experience and decisive judgment. Ability to supplement learning experience with individual research and application. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks. Desire to grow in a leadership capacity and serve as a mentor. Ability to stand or be on your feet for extended periods of time. Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly. Must possess excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
