The Repair Technician must be able to lead their repair team in work with various cross functional members including General Assembly, Quality, Process, NPI, and Engineering groups across a wide variety of issues and/ or corrective actions identified in production, testing and inspection process. The Lead Repair Technicians lead a team of autonomous technicians in a manufacturing environment rectifying issues during the Battery Assembly process.


Responsibilities
  • Perform rectification on Cells, Bandoliers, Arrays, Penthouses, and other components on the Cybertruck Battery through a comprehensive diagnosis and evaluation
  • Perform Battery Diagnosis including Positive and Negative leak tests within different steps of the assembly process, in addition to functional test on the Battery Pack and Penthouse
  • Assist and interface with NPI, Quality, Design, and Process Engineering teams to improve work instructions, parts, jigs, tools, and overall, First Pass Yield
  • Operate and maintain a wide variety of shop tools, power tools, and automotive electrical test equipment
  • Support Battery and Battery Sub-Assembly Production, General Assembly returns, and teardown of scrap materials to save on cost and further data collection including maintaining of records of time and materials through Tesla's Proprietary Software
  • Educate Production Associates and other cross-functional departments on implementation of countermeasures to improve final quality and EOL production process
  • Perform other Repair Technician related duties as assigned


Requirements
  • 2+ years' experience in automotive diagnosis, servicing, and repairs (may be substituted with experience in Assembly of Batteries or vehicles at Tesla with evidence of exceptional ability)
  • Work in a team-based environment and achieve common goals
  • Must be Flexible and capable of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Perform detailed daily record keeping and reporting
  • Possess ability to critically think and look for the problems based on line conditions
  • Experience with functional/leak testers
  • Ability to diagnose problems quickly, find solutions through root-cause analysis, and be empowered to take immediate action
