Summary

Provides pre-award grant administration support for the section of Pediatrics Neurology-NRI. Prepares budgets for pre award grant applications to sponsors ensuring accurate routing through BCM's BRAIN system for Pediatric-Neurology NRI.

This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.

Employees with CRA certification are eligible for certification pay.

Job Duties

  • Responsible for pre-award grants management
  • Develop budgets, budget justifications, grant proposal submission, etc
  • Ensure faculty and grants are research compliant under IACUC, COI, RCR, etc. regulations
  • Review cost distributions of faculty and lab staff to ensure personnel effort are appropriately sourced on sponsored programs
  • Prepare outgoing subcontracts and reviews incoming subcontracts
  • Research and provide sponsored program expertise by interpreting sponsor guidelines (Uniform Guidance) for federal and state agencies and private foundations, such as NIH
  • Provide guidance to administrative staff and faculty on grant proposal submission corrections and revisions
  • Review and submit grant proposal submissions and other items (progress reports, no-cost extensions, carry-forward requests, etc.) via BRAIN to Sponsored Programs Office
  • Pre-review effort records in the Effort Reporting System
  • Develop and maintain SOP's and procedural guides
  • Serve as an information resource related to grants and contracts for faculty, fellows and staff
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree. Certified Research Administrator certification through the Research Administrators Certification Council (RACC) may substitute for the degree requirement.
  • Two years of relevant experience.
