Summary

The Senior Research Administration Associate (SRAA) will serve as the pre and post-award research operations professional for the Department of Medicine. The SRAA will provide guidance to section administrators and staff on all pre and post research administration activities including application preparation, submission review/approval, effort management, SAP transactions, sponsored programs budget and expense management, invoicing and compliance. Will also be the resource for sections administrators, research admin staff, and principal investigators on grant submissions and post award management.

This position is eligible for a future hybrid schedule.

Employees with Certified Research Administrator (CRA) certification are eligible for certification pay.

Job Duties

  • Manage federal, state and industry grants, contracts & subcontract submissions internally and externally.
  • Serve as POC between OOR, sponsors, PIs, collaborating institutions.
  • Provide grant program expertise, financial expertise, and guidance related to sponsored research to leaders and faculty.
  • Consult with faculty regarding funding opportunities, eligibility and application requirements for sponsored research funding.
  • Review and approve grant application proposals for sections assigned in the College's electronic Biomedical Research and Assurance Information Network (BRAIN).
  • Administer grant budgets in accordance with the regulations and approved budget.
  • Participate in the annual budgeting process.
  • Ensure the ongoing review and development of process improvements to maximize business productivity.
  • Oversee regulatory activities that lead to timely regulatory submission.
  • Oversee or originate special projects or programs.
  • During major submission deadline, cross cover to ensure all submissions are completed in time for final review and submission.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree. Certified Research Administrator certification through the Research Administrators Certification Council (RACC) may substitute for the degree requirement.
  • Four years of relevant experience.
