Under the direct supervision of Dr. Stephen Gruber, the Research Associate I will perform a variety of research experiments. The Gruber Lab focuses on genetics, precision medicine, and epidemiology of colon cancer and inherited cancer syndromes, including Lynch Syndrome and other forms of inherited susceptibility to GI cancers. Our lab utilizes statistical modeling to understand the development of colorectal cancers in different populations.

Our laboratory also leads The Li-Fraumeni & TP53: Understanding & Progress (LiFT UP) study, an international effort to better understand cancer risk, modifiers of risk, and clinical outcomes for individuals and families with mutations, variants and pathogenic variants in the TP53 gene.

As a successful candidate, you will:

• Utilize laboratory equipment and established protocols, perform a variety of research experiments. Record and validate results for accuracy and completeness.

• May modify protocols

• Write standard operating procedures and reports.

• Maintain records of work performed including results and methodology; utilize records may calculate, graph and compile data.

• Develop techniques and expertise in one or more areas relevant to laboratory research project.

• Ensure that all laboratory activities are carried out in compliance with safety procedures and guidelines in handling, storage, and disposal of materials.



• Bachelor's degree with 0-2 years of research or laboratory experience

• 1-2 years of experience preferred
