Summary

The Clinical Research Coordinator will work with the Neurocritical Care and Vascular Neurology teams at the department of Neurology. Job would require enrolling patients at the Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center, performing trial related activities (setting up visits, maintaining necessary regulatory compliance) working with the team. Prior research experience and teamwork is highly encouraged.

Research coordinator will be working at the department of Neurology and in the Section of Vascular Neurology and Neurocritical Care. The trial recruitment will be performed at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center and/ or McNair Neurology Clinic. Follow up will be mostly through phone calls or at office visits in McNair Neurology clinic.

One year of relevant experience in clinical trial work, including recruitment of patients, setting up follow up visits, and working in a hospital and/or clinic setting, familiarity with IRB application process, and regulatory work for clinical trials is necessary.

Job Duties

  • Regulatory compliance. Assists in obtaining regulatory compliance for the trials.
  • IRB maintenance. Assists in maintaining the updated information to IRB for annual review for existing trials and working with the PI in applying for new trials.
  • Training documents. Assists in reviewing the necessary documents for maintaining training compliance with the existing trials and upcoming trials.
  • Trial participation: Interviews, screen and recruits patients for study; explains process and procedures to educate participant regarding the research study.
  • May collect, process, ship, and maintain paperwork for blood and/or biological specimens according to procedures outlined in study protocol.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • One year of relevant experience.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Knowledge of neurological, stroke, and critical care research is welcome.
  • Experience with IRB application process, regulatory work and ability to work with teams is highly anticipated in the applicant.
