Job Summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center is hiring for Research Coordinator, Office of Clinical Research

Works under general supervision to complete credentialing and re-credentialing of UTSW-employed research staff who perform research at Parkland, and running the background check for all non-remunerative House Staff members.

Experience and Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Five (5) years of experience in the field of medical staff credentialing, working in a medical education program environment.
  • Three (3) years of experience or equivalent knowledge in the field of medical staff credentialing or working in the medical education program/academic medical center environment.
  • Database management and database configuration skills required.
  • Knowledge of Investigational Review Board rules, medical terminology, and Joint Commission standards required.
Job Duties
  • Completes the credentialing process for members of the Research Staff employed by UT Southwestern Medical Center. This includes the verification of license and other related verifications. Additionally, the applicant is responsible for completing the initial credentialing and re-credentialing of UTSW-employed research staff who perform research at Parkland and running the background check for all non-remunerative House Staff members. Reports any sanction to the manager, director, and Human Resources.
  • Manages the credentialing database to enhance reporting capabilities, configures database fields, and works with the database vendor regarding the operational needs of the database to support the Department.
  • Credentials and coordinates the on-boarding process for all observers in University Hospitals. This includes providing guidance regarding the observer policy, having the necessary paperwork signed, and verifying the Occupational Health clearance. Additionally, collects and enters the demographic and credentialing information required by Parkland and other affiliated entities in order for UTSW Research Staff to perform research work at those locations.
  • Serves as a representative for University Hospitals at the meetings related to campus research activities.
  • Works closely with Parkland and other affiliated entities to provide and share research credentialing information as allowed by policy.
  • Performs data entry and achieves the required benchmark for productivity.
  • Other Duties: Performs other duties as assigned.
