Post-doctoral Research Fellow position in Molecular Therapeutics
A Post-doctoral position is immediately available in the Investigational Cancer Therapeutics laboratory at Massachusetts General Hospital. The successful candidate will be affiliated with the Krantz Family Center for Cancer Research and the Termeer Center of Investigational Cancer Therapeutics at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School.
Job description
The Sanidas lab is actively seeking an exceptional candidate to delve into acquired vulnerabilities in hormone receptor-positive Breast Cancer that undergo progression during CDK4/6 inhibition combined with hormone therapy. Our research aims to identify novel cellular dependencies and to systematically examine epigenetic adaptation and estrogen receptor rewiring in resistant tumors. Our experimental systems involve the utilization of patient-derived cell lines obtained during different stages of treatment, as well as in vitro resistance models to CDK4/6 inhibitors. To validate our mechanistic observations, we will employ cutting-edge technologies such as single-cell sequencing and spatial transcriptomics analysis on patient-derived specimens. Our overarching objective is to discover innovative and more efficacious treatment modalities for metastatic breast cancer, with a keen eye on enhancing the performance of drugs currently under early-phase clinical trials.
Our laboratory is dedicated to fostering the scientific career development of postdoctoral trainees, tailoring opportunities based on their demonstrated accomplishments. We provide a distinctive research environment in an emerging field that holds significant importance for both basic and translational science.
To qualify, the ideal candidate should hold a Ph.D. degree, preferably in biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, or related disciplines, and should be in the final stages of completing their degree requirements. Candidates should have at most five years of postdoctoral research experience.
Qualifications
• We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual who is enthusiastic about working in a collaborative environment.
• A PhD in biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, or a closely related field is required.
• The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in basic molecular biology, cell biology, and biochemical techniques.
• A proven track record of making substantial contributions to research projects and publishing in peer-reviewed journals is essential.
• Exceptional personal initiative and communication skills are a must, along with the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Willingness to work with mouse models is expected.
