Employer: Virginia Jobs

Job type: Full-Time

The Jiang lab is seeking a highly motivated Research Scientist to join their lab. We are located within the Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics Department at the University of Virginia. The candidate will investigate the role of phase-separated condensates formed by key chromatin modulators or signaling molecules in cancer control by a combination of biochemical, molecular, genetic, and genomic approaches. The candidate will be matched with close mentorship, but is expected to be academically independent.

About the Jiang Lab: The broad interest of our laboratory is how gene expression and cell signaling are regulated by biomolecular condensates, how dysregulation of these mechanisms lead to diseases especially cancer. Moreover, we are developing novel strategies and molecules to target the specific condensates to combat disease. We have recently made exciting progresses in this direction, and are actively exploring their therapeutic potentials.
