Job Summary
We are searching for a highly motivated researcher interested in the theory/modeling of electronic transport in novel materials and devices. You will participate in cutting-edge research projects. You will work together with Prof. Vandenberghe in the Materials Science and Engineering program and guide Ph.D. students while also performing your own research. The candidate we are looking for is self-motivated by research and likes to work with others that are interested in research. Prof. Vandenberghe will mentor you to gain the skills to become a successful faculty member or industrial researcher in the future.
Current research topics are found in the field of two-dimensional (2D) materials, quantum transport in nanoelectronics, Monte Carlo simulations for electronic transport in transistors and photovoltaics, contacts, semi-classical semiconductor device simulations, silicon LDMOS , mobility models, ab initio thermodynamics, dielectric properties of materials, and first principles prediction of electronic materials.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Master's degree in field directly related to research - Two (2) years of experience/expertise performing research relating to a specified field of study - Or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience totaling at least eight years.
Preferred Education and Experience
2. Modeling and simulation of novel nanoelectronic devices such as TFETs, MOSFETs, 2D Materials
Devices, Topological Insulator Devices, or Magnetic Devices.
3. A minimum of two first author papers published or accepted in a peer-reviewed journal.
4. Ability to work collaboratively with excellent oral and written communication skills.

- PhD in Materials Science and Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering or related field.
- System administrator skills on Linux systems is a plus
- Experience in one of the following areas:
