Job Summary

Dr. Shah's Focused Ultrasound Lab is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a passion for medicine and technology to join their team. This position is tailored for individuals holding at least a Bachelor's degree in a medically related field or computer science field with a keen interest in medical research and innovation. One of the focuses of our lab is High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) to treat essential tremor patients, offering incisionless procedures that provide immediate symptom relief. Our ongoing work serves to improve patient outcomes through a personalized medicine approach. This role is an excellent fit for someone considering medical school or graduate studies by providing hands-on experience in medical imaging and treatment research related to healthcare. Motivated Individuals will have the opportunity to participate in the authorship of peer-reviewed publications and presentations/posters at national conferences.

Experience and Education

• Completion of two (2) years of college or specialized training in histology, medical technology, or relevant field and one (1) year experience as Laboratory Technical Assistant or equivalent. or

• High school graduation includes courses in basic sciences such as physics, chemistry, biology, etc., and three (3) years of laboratory experience including two years as Laboratory Technical Assistant or equivalent.

Job Duties

• Assists in conducting experiments and working on research problems in such fields as physiology, bacteriology, tissue culture, chemistry, and other related fields by performing basic, routine, and least complex procedures as prescribed by supervisor.

• Assembles and/or operates various laboratory equipment and apparatus.

• Records resulting data in accordance with established methods. Confers with supervisor concerning results obtained and modifies procedures in accordance with instruction of supervisor.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
