Research Technician

The University of Pittsburgh Cancer Center Translational Immuno-Informatics Lab (TIILab, URL: https://www.tiilab.org/ ) is seeking a highly motivated Laboratory Research Technician to support our cutting-edge cancer research and developmental therapeutic efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of wet-lab experiments and processing clinical specimens to support ongoing research studies, including translational in vitro /ex vivo /in vivo experiments in lab and specimens from clinical trials. This role requires expertise in laboratory techniques, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of laboratory safety and integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct wet-lab experiments such as cell culture, DNA/RNA extraction, slide staining, microscopy imaging, western blotting, PBMC processing, etc.
• Process and manage clinical specimens, ensuring proper handling, labeling, and storage
• Maintain accurate and details records of experiments and sample processing
• Perform quality control checks on equipment and reagents, and ensure timely ordering of supplies
• Assist in the development and optimization of experimental protocols
• Collaborate with research team members to analyze data and contribute to publications
• Ensure compliance with institutional and federal regulations
• Train and supervise junior lab members and students
