*About the Job:
In this position the candidate will be expected to perform high level theoretical and simulation studies, and data analysis research. Their primary research project will focus on estimation algorithms and control system design for a medical cyber-physical system application.

*Duties/responsibilities:
-Develop observer design algorithms for nonlinear systems
-Develop observer-based control system algorithms for nonlinear systems
-Assist with generation of ideas and new technical approaches for multiple research projects in the lab
-Prepare for and supervise work conducted by/for graduate students
-Prepare reports and presentations and interact with sponsors.
-Collaborate with faculty members and researchers from other universities who are collaborating with the PI on associated research projects.
-Assist with proposal preparation

Qualifications

*Required qualifications:
-Master's degree and 2 years of related experiences or BS/BA and 4 years of related experience.
-Capable of working independently and completing all the tasks required to satisfy sponsors, including conducting algorithm development, simulations, data analysis and presentations about system performance.
-Capable of assisting with proposal preparation and idea generation for new projects.
-Good research and analysis skills in the estimation and control systems field
-Previous experience in working on challenging analytical problems
-Experience with implementing and debugging code in software systems that include Matlab and Python
-Experience writing scientific publications

*Preferred qualifications include:
-PhD in the field of control systems and analytical algorithm development
-Postdoctoral work experience demonstrating capability to do high quality independent analytical work.
-Good teamwork skills
-Excellent attention to detail
-Great written communication skills
