Faculty are essential to Liberty University's mission of Training Champions for Christ. Faculty should view their teaching, engagement with students, and scholarship as a means to a significant educational end. The Associate Professor's primary role is to teach in their areas of expertise, maintain the integrity of course and instructional programs, and to ensure that their delivery is in alignment with the University mission and vision for the student experience. As such, faculty are responsible for creating an academic atmosphere of mutual respect and consideration for individual dignity. Faculty members may be asked to aid in the development of curriculum in the residential and distance education environments, as well as engage in research/scholarship or creative activity that varies depending upon the expectations of their respective college or school and any additional activities involving service to students and their professional discipline.

Faculty attain the rank of Associate Professor based upon scholarly and professional achievements after attaining the rank of assistant professor. An earned doctoral degree from an accredited institution in an area relevant to the faculty member's area of teaching or a terminal professional master's degree or evidence of outstanding contributions in the faculty member's professional or academic field (e.g., as recognized by one's peers, nationally) is required.

Associate Professors are contracted for 10, 11, or 12 months (24, 27, or 30 load hours, respectively). Release from contracted teaching load is determined each semester by the Dean, per the Liberty University Faculty Handbook.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Applicant must have a Master's degree in Marketing
  • Degree must be from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
  • Must agree with Liberty University's statement of faith.
  • Must demonstrate expertise in the field of Marketing.
  • For assistant professor applicants, potential for excellence in scholarship in marketing and related areas is required.
  • Dynamic class presence and student engagement, service orientation toward teaching required.
  • Proven record of innovation and continuous process improvement

Preferred Qualifications
  • Applicant should have a terminal degree in Marketing
  • Experience in teaching at a collegiate level
  • Experience in the field of Marketing
  • Experience in digital marketing, data analysis, AI
  • Industry experience driving marketing initiatives, budgeting, and brand awareness strongly desired


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

It is expected that the faculty member will model a personal commitment to the goals and values of Liberty University, engage in an active commitment to, and experience of, personal spiritual formation within a biblically informed Christian worldview. The candidate must be committed to the evangelical standards and mission of Liberty University. Faculty Member will be responsible for teaching courses as assigned. Faculty will take advantage of teaching moments and opportunities using weekly announcements and emails. The professor will also carry out various administrative tasks as dictated to them by their Chair, and other department administrators. These administrative tasks will include items such as roster verification, reporting items, and timely submission of final grades. Teach material from approved curriculum in accordance with assigned schedule to ensure student satisfaction. Assists students in achieving completion of objectives and learning outcomes. Provides regular and timely feedback to students. Participates in school retention initiatives by maintaining productive contact with students and by getting in touch with and aiding absent students. Advises students in matters related to academics, attendance, and behaviors. Maintains and reports student grades and attendance in accordance with university policies. Strictly adheres to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner. Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU's mission. Other duties assigned. Responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate and graduate Marketing courses, advising undergraduate and graduate students, and university service including committee and outreach activities as appropriate to the faculty member's rank and expertise. Comfortable with technology and hybrid teaching modalities, in-person and virtual delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Education and Experience

We are seeking faculty who have earned a graduate degree or doctorate in Marketing

To teach at the baccalaureate level, faculty will need to possess a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the related discipline with experience desired. Relevant certifications are considered.

To teach at the Master's or Doctoral level, faculty will need to possess a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the related business discipline and hold a related, conferred terminal degree.
