Provides direct patient care, pulmonary care and respiratory equipment management in a mainly office based (May require traveling to different locations) setting for the initiation of PAP therapy to patients of the JHHCG in accordance with TJC, state and departmental standards. Provides care to adults of all ages. Develops and maintains the business process to ensure service excellence. Coordinates closely with the PAP COE and managerment of the PAP team, regarding performance, productivity, documentation and patient care issues. Develop and maintains knowledge of regulations and agency policies.

Education:
  • Certified Respiratory Technician, Registered Respiratory Therapist or Respiratory Care Practitioner as credentialed by the NBR

Knowledge:
  • Work requires the level of knowledge typically acquired through completion of an accredited program by the NBRC, which results in a state license

Skills:
  • Critical Thinking skills. Work requires the analytical skills to resolve problems that require the use of basic scientific, mathematical or technical principles.
  • Work requires the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.
  • Use of sound judgment

Required Licensure, Certification, etc.:
  • Registration by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a registered Respiratory Therapist or Certified Respiratory Technician required
  • Must be licensed by the Maryland State Board of Physician Quality Assurance.
  • CPR is preferred
  • Current, valid Maryland Driver's License, preferably with no points is preferred
  • Valid auto insurance

Work Experience:
  • One- Two (2) years minimum clinical Respiratory experience in a hospital or home care setting
