Job description

The Retail Inventory, Replenishment, and Planning (IPR) role is responsible for managing inventory levels, forecasting demand, and ensuring product availability in retail settings. This position involves analyzing sales data, monitoring inventory levels, and implementing strategies to optimize inventory turnover and minimize stockouts. The IPR specialist works closely with cross-functional teams, including merchandising, purchasing, and logistics, to develop and execute inventory management plans. Effectively manage projects and support sales team in their efforts to grow sales revenue. The Sales Project Specialist will proactively partner with management and across the business to provide accurate financial reporting and data analysis to help facilitate strategic decisions. This role requires a self-starter with critical thinking skills and the ability to partner with colleagues at all levels of the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records, monitor stock levels, and identify opportunities to optimize inventory turnover
  • Demand Forecasting: Analyze sales data, market trends, and historical patterns to forecast demand for products and anticipate inventory needs
  • Replenishment Planning: Develop replenishment plans to ensure products are available for sale in stores and warehouses
  • Order Management: Track order status, and coordinate shipments to replenish inventory
  • Inventory Analysis: Conduct regular inventory audits, analyze inventory performance metrics, and identify areas for improvement
  • Collaboration: Work closely with merchandising, IPR, and logistics teams to coordinate inventory management activities and ensure alignment with business goals
  • Vendor Management: Build and maintain relationships with merchant, IPR Team, and resolve any issues related to product availability or quality
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline inventory management processes, reduce costs, and improve efficiency
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field
  • Previous experience in inventory management, replenishment planning, or related roles in the retail industry. Experience with inventory management software or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is preferred
  • Certification in supply chain management or related areas is a plus
  • Minimum 3 year of experience working with big box retailers
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools and software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Knowledge of inventory management best practices, supply chain principles, and retail operations
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and work in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Position requires heavy travel (30%+)
