From December through May, this individual will lead our luxury retail store at the USPA National Polo Center (NPC) in Wellington, Florida. Our retail store is targeted to be open 1-2 days a week from December through the end of April, every Sunday to serve customers attending polo matches and potentially one other evening during the season depending on demand. This person will develop strategies to increase sales and interact with our loyal customers to ensure repeat business as well as grow our existing customer base.

Outside of Polo Season, this individual will support other departments as needed. Within the Sports Marketing & Media Department, this individual will support the global broadcast and events team with projects that impact the strategic direction of USPA Global. Project scope includes administrative and inventory-based work that supports global events, collegiate polo sponsorships as well as other projects that support the goals of U.S. Polo Assn., our multi-billion-dollar global sports brand.

In supporting the design and operations team, this individual will support our Sample Sales, assist with photo shoots, act as a back-up for the warehouse manager and other duties as needed.

This role is based out of West Palm Beach and Wellington, Florida.

Retail Responsibilities

  • Opens and closes the store
  • Manages part-time store staff
  • Always demonstrates exemplary customer service and assists customers by addressing their needs timely and thoroughly
  • Drives sales through engagement of customers, suggestive selling, and sharing product knowledge
  • Ensure the store remains clean and presentable at all times
  • Processes payments by totaling purchases, processing credit and debit cards, and manage returns of merchandise
  • Assists with setting up merchandise displays on the sales floor
  • Educate customers on the product in store and online, follow-up timely with inquiries
  • Alerts home office of potential or actual security issues
  • Communicates key takeaways, and provides consumer insights to home office team based on weekly selling
  • Tagging and stickering product
  • Inputting product into the POS system
  • Assisting with purchase orders and communicating with vendors
  • Be a representative of the brand to our consumers, board and club members
  • Maintains ecommerce support during busy periods
  • Performs additional responsibilities as needed


Additional Responsibilities as Directed

  • Assist in the execution of polo events and polo club partnerships with creation of meeting agendas, meeting invites, meeting recaps, and keeping the team on task with event items
  • Support the annual college program including managing program deliverables, as well as shipping and inventory tracking
  • Support apparel/gifting closet with inventory tracking, and shipping as needed
  • Support with apparel inventory, inventory stocking and labeling at off-site warehouse
  • Support shipping process with consistent and accurate information, aiming to reduce costs and challenges
  • Support uploading documents and approved items to Brand Comply (our system of record) for approval purposes
  • Support media team with labeling and organizing photos and uploading to Asset bank for future use
  • On an as needed basis, support with on-site tradeshow or event activations
  • Invoicing as required
  • Supports photo shoots as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Retail sales experience preferred
