Job Description

The Revenue/Reimbursement Analyst, under the general supervision of the Finance Manager, provides superior quality, competitive value and outstanding service and is primarily concerned with revenue and reimbursement analyses of financial information of Health First, Inc. and its affiliates. Additionally, this position will support the Sr. Revenue/Reimbursement Analyst as required for evaluation of reserves, forecasting, and budgeting of revenue, contractuals, and bad debt. This position performs work that is varied and somewhat difficult in character, with limited responsibility for recommendations and decisions.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Assist with the monitoring of charge capture for the clinical departments
  • Assist in developing the revenue & stat budgets for each cost center based on trend analysis and projected market data.
  • Review and record stats for clinical departments at month end
  • Assist with analyzing stat variances to budget at month end
  • Assist Sr. Revenue/Reimbursement Analyst in CDM analysis
  • Review AR reconciliation and AR days schedule prepared by Associate Revenue/Reimbursement Analyst.
  • Assist in identifying utilization issues
  • Assist in providing financial analysis of reimbursement practices
  • Assist in the preparation of year end audit schedules on reserves of bad debt and managed care reserves
  • Properly record contractual adjustments and assist Sr. Revenue/Reimbursement
  • Analyst explain variances to budget at month end
  • Properly record bad debt and charity and assist Sr. Revenue/Reimbursement Analyst explain variances to budget at month end
  • Assist with preparation of indigent and birth tax calculations
  • Represent Health First, Inc. through community and professional organizations


Qualifications:

  • BS degree in accounting, finance, or related field, from an accredited college or university required.
  • Prior experience and knowledge in the use of software packages such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and Windows.
  • Two to five years healthcare experience in revenue/reimbursement analysis required.
  • Fundamental knowledge of clinical/financial information system use.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Enthusiasm and high level of job interest.
  • Possess excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Possess computer abilities as well as oral and written communication skills.
  • Knows and applies clinical and financial concepts necessary to analyze revenue and reimbursement of service lines
  • Demonstrates the ability to relate well with all customers and peers
  • Ability to prioritize and organize to maximize quality, value and service.
  • Remain current on all financial regulations and standards.
